Filmed dramas of famous literary short stories by authors such as Guy de Maupassant, Robert Louis Stevenson, Henry James, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, etc.

Well there's not much info on this show. It went on in 1949!!!!!!

From what I can tell, it featured TV adaptions of literary works and was introduced by a guy in a bookshop. I only saw one episode. Sherlock Holmes. On my Roku. Honestly, this was before TV was dumbed down to the point it became unwatchable.

The production was really good and the acting and story telling was really great. Too bad this stuff couldn't fly today. If you can find this show in a more complete form, be sure to see it!
