"The Screen Guild Theater" broadcast a 30-minute radio adaptation of Adventure in Baltimore (1949) on March 30, 1950 with Shirley Temple reprising her film role.
Completed in 1948, but not released until 1949 --- due to the turmoil at the studio after being purchased by Howard Hughes.
Last film at RKO for production executive Dore Schary, after disagreements with the studio's new owner Howard Hughes. He would move on to MGM as its production chief.
This film bombed at the box office, resulting in a loss to RKO of $875,000 ($9.32M in 2019) according to studio records.
Also under contract to David O. Selznick at the time was Shirley Temple's first husband, actor John Agar, which was no accident. The shrewd producer had previously featured the married couple in John Ford's Fort Apache (1948) starring John Wayne in an effort to capitalize on the public's interest in their off-screen relationship. For Adventure in Baltimore (1949), Agar was cast as Temple's boyfriend Tom. They divorced shortly after this film, in 1950.
