Davy Crockett (not the famous Alamo hero, but his nephew) guides a wagon train through hostile territory and rescues the cavalry from ambushing Indians.
The scenes depicting the battle between the Kiowa and the wagon train and the U.S. cavalry troops, attempting to cross the mountains through the Manitou Pass, were later recycled for the film 'Frontier Uprising' (1961) to depict a battle between the Shoshone and the U.S. cavalry troops riding into an ambush in the Medicine Rock boxed canyon.
After Crockett saves Red Hawk's life by killing an Indian with his knife, they both pick up the dead Indian to hide the body. The dead Indian then grabs Crockett's right arm to keep from slipping.
