An astronaut crew on their way to the Moon are unexpectedly propelled by gravitational forces and end up on Mars instead.
One of the correspondents is played by Judd Holdren, who would soon be part of the new space craze himself in the title role of the serial Captain Video, Master of the Stratosphere (1951).
From this distance it would only appear a mere speck.

When the rocket lands on Mars, we see a shot of German V2 rocket-in reverse. We even get a quick look at the rocket tower as the rocket goes down.
The Navarre DVD release (as part of a 'triple feature') does not include the new special effects sequences or the pink/red coloring. The Mars sequences are, however, tinted a pallid, sickly green.
