| You won't believe who the outlaw leader is
Thundering Caravans finds US Marshal Rocky Lane helping out local sheriff Eddy Waller apprehend a gang of outlaws robbing mine ore shipments. Local law is baffled, especially because they would never suspect who the outlaw ringleader is. In his place neither would I.

When gang member Roy Barcroft recognizes Waller's young deputy Richard Crane as a former cellmate from prison the outlaws think to use that knowledge for some leverage blackmail. Doesn't work, but when the news breaks out it does put Sheriff Waller's job in jeopardy.

Thundering Caravans tells its story at a good pace and Allan Lane looks tall in the saddle. But the days of B westerns was coming to a close and the Republic stable of cowboy heroes was fast disappearing.
