Three scientists unlawfully remove the still living brain of a dead tycoon and experiment with it but the evil brain begins to telepathically control the lead scientist.
Writer Curt Siodmak was also set to direct, but at the last minute he was replaced by Felix E. Feist.

On several occasions, Cory each time erroneously refers to the oscilloscope as the "oscillograph." However, when the movie was made, an oscilloscope was previously called an oscillograph. It is also informally known as an o-scope, or CRO (for cathode ray oscilloscope.)
