The Saga Film production company was executing a vast amount of comedies, most of which were highly forgettable. However this movie is a brilliant exception. It is probably the best comedy directed by Annelise Reenberg and it is a prime example of the genuine innocent style in the early days of comedies set in the countryside of the Fifties. The pace is moderate and everyone act out in sympathetic and noteworthy parts. A number of the finest character actors of the time show their best efforts in this drama with genuine rural atmosphere. It was only later in the Sixties this popular concept deteriorated into conformity. The dramatic drive centers around who of three men in the village is the actual father of a young woman who suddenly pops up to find her roots. Moral values still ranked high in the Fifties, and it was a tricky matter to portray sexual activities taking place outside marriage, even in retrospect. But boys will be boys, and there is an overall acceptance of the set-up, where three men relive their youth together having accomplished such a brilliant offspring as the innocent maid servant Karin Nellemose.
