When the Modocs kill General Canby the Army fires a three-inch rifled field piece at the Modocs' position, but the shell never lands or explodes.
President Grant is shown wearing his Army uniform in the White House. This is inaccurate as General Grant resigned his commission in 1869.
During the battle at the Stronghold, General Canby orders the bugler to play "Retreat," but the call that is played is "Recall."
The last submitted error, which is not posted yet, should be corrected from General Canby to General Gilliam.
Incorrectly regarded as goofs
This movie was based on the 1869 Modoc Indian uprising in northern California, yet they show 44-40 lever action Winchester rifles, which were not introduced until 1873.
Crew or equipment visible
When the woman on the stagecoach is shot by a Modoc arrow, if you look closely you can see the filament wire used to "guide" the prop arrow to its target.
Errors in geography
This movie is obviously filmed in Arizona and not the Klamath area around Oregon.
When a group of Modocs are tracked to Willow Creek, there is a meeting in a cabin where the civilian scout meets up with the army Captain. They forget to lock the door and the Modocs walk right in.
When Captain Jack meets with the peace commission and asked by Johnny MacKay what it would take to make peace, he responds "all of the Lost River to the Klamath. River"
