A wheelchair-bound photographer spies on his neighbors from his apartment window and becomes convinced one of them has committed murder.
In Cornell Woolrich's short story on which this movie was based, it's not revealed until the last line that the hero has a broken leg.

When Lisa goes to Jeff's house to celebrate his last week with his cast, she places two candles onto the table next to him; the candles are not lit. A little later in the same scene, Lisa walks into the kitchen, and when she returns, the candles are lit.
In addition to the aforementioned "dream sequences", in 1986 Universal also padded the running time by slowing down the action during the main titles. The shades rolled-up so slowly that there was time to play the main title music twice.
