The success story of a dressmaker who comes to run a group of fashion shops at the expense of her love life.
Although opening credits and advertising material refer to the film as being filmed in VistaVision, it was, in fact, photographed in the standard 1.37:1 spherical aspect ratio, but with allowance for cropping on the top and bottom of the frame, as was the custom in the transitional years from standard to wide screen projection.
Always wear black with dark gray, not that color.
The story takes place in three separate eras, 1941, 1946, and 1954, but all of Jane Wyman's hair styles and clothes, as well as those of the other women in the cast, are strictly, and severely 1954.
