Spoiler Alert WWII. A doctor is faced with a difficult choice. He should kill a quisling and he did so. After killing him he's forced to live the city and join partisan forces in woods. But there are some barriers to do so. First of all he should treat his wounded commerade then he was attacked by Germans. The final barrier was the river where all bridges were guarded. He found a boat but then he realized that boatman was the father of quisling he killed. No matter of facing death he stayed with his high pregnant wife and helped her to give birth to a child. However, boatman found out that the doctor was not a murderer and that he was forced to kill the enemy for the freedom of his people. Great WWII drama with Stane Sever, the best Slovene actor in leading role.
