TV Series | TV-PG | | Western
An anthology based (earlier more so than later) on the novels and stories of Zane Grey. Dick Powell was often the star, as well as the host.
This show was unique because it was the only Western anthology on television at the time. Anthologies were popular on early television and were the equivalent of today's television movies. Because of this format, it attracted many stars who wanted to appear on it.
The syndicated rerun package does not include episode 2.21, Zane Grey Theater: The Sharpshooter (1958), because it is the pilot for the series The Rifleman (1958), and was reworked to be its premiere episode. Consequently, that rerun package is where it can be seen.
