This black and white comedy starring singer Peter Alexander and comedian Georg Thomola is a bit naughtier in nature than their usual 50s fair since it concerns the search for a particular sort of women's undergarment. All though the slapstick is dated and tame by now, the film moves along at a brisk pace and there is enough variety to keep things interested on a Sunday afternoon. Also there are some nice German ladies to look at.

Singer songwriter Peter Moll (Alexander) is sentenced to serve one day in jail for plagiarism. He decides to sit out his time rather than pay up 25.000 mark because he insists in being innocent (who doesn't). A big inmate named Schweren Gustav (Hans Schwarz) tells him about an emerald he hid in a black bra. Peter is instructed to pick up that piece of ice at Frieda Hebe Corsettiere and they'll split the proceeds 50-50. When Moll and his band mate Paul Späth (Thomalla) visit at the shop, the two musicians find that all five of the Bustenhalters have been sold already. Luckily four of the five buyers left their names and addresses..

First they try to get their hands on a bra which is being used as a costume in a play - while the show is still in progress. A smart way to attract chaos if ever there was. Then Paul decides to involve Liesel (Inge Egger), Schwere Gustav's step daughter by disguising them selves as crooks with unconvincing eye patches and crooked hats. Liesel and her friend Otti (Christiane Maybach) don't want anything to do with criminals however. She even visits the jeweler who was robbed to inquire about the stone. Meanwhile, back in jail Gustav is visited by one of his crooked cronies. Together with two untrustworthy pals, this genuine criminal set off in search for the black bra as well. Now two parties are romancing the stone.

The next BH on the list is to be found in the home of a Jessica Fletcher like mystery writer who dictates her stories to a secretary. After more slapstick humor, the three crooks tell the two musicians to give up their search. Peter & Paul still go after bra buyer number three, French mademoiselle Siomon anyway, even following her into a women only steam bath. Meanwhile, Peter has fallen for Liesel and Paul for Otti. While the former comes clean to Liesel in the park, the latter gets the entire big band orchestra to dress up as gangsters and still fails to impress Otti.

The last change of finding the bra lies in the bosom of a circus trapeze artist. So P & P offer to wash all the circus folk's undergarments. Blech! For some reason Paul dresses up in a bear-suit and of course gets mistaken for the real bear who promptly escapes. Having struck out four times, the would be jewel hunters give up, but wouldn't you know it, the emerald turns up in the most unlikely of places, practically right under their noses. Liesl returns it to the jeweler, who gives them a big reward and Peter and Paul can finally put on their big band show. Just steer clear of copyright infringement, now boys.
