I enjoyed the Boston Blackie movies starring Chester Morris. This would seem to be a parody of those, although other than the character names there's little in common. Boston Blackie was about a reformed jewel thief constantly having to solve murders he was falsely accused of. This cartoon is about Boston Quackie (Daffy Duck), a secret agent in Paris given the job of protecting a briefcase with something valuable inside. A man in a green hat steals the briefcase and Boston Quackie chases him onto a train called the Cloak & Dagger Express. Porky Pig is Quackie's boss Inspector Faraway (based on Inspector Faraday from the films, who was not Blackie's boss but the cop determined to put him away). Anyway, this is a slight but amusing Daffy cartoon. The animation is okay but a little crude at times. The voicework is good. Liked the Peter Lorre impersonation. The final gag is the best in the short.
