Global panic ensues when it is revealed that a mysterious UFO is actually a giant bird that flies at supersonic speed and has no regard for life or architecture.
The footage of a B-25 taking off to attack the "monster" was taken from Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo (1944). You can clearly see the crew artwork belonging to Van Johnson's plane, "The Ruptured Duck", on the side of the nose.
Lt. Gen. Edward Considine:
You like Pierre's apple jack, oui?
Mitch MacAfee: Ahh, a perfect antidote for snakebite, thunder, lightning, and disbelieving generals. Fill 'er up, Pierre.
Just before the CAB plane is attacked (0:27), the narrator gives the time as "oh-eighteen-fifteen" which is meaningless in military time. A moment later, he gives the time in the correct terminology, "oh-eight-sixteen (0816)."
