During the Korean War, a battle-worn lieutenant and his platoon are behind enemy lines, and have orders to march to Hill 465 for possible relief.

Through the entire movie, all the soldiers had bayonets attached. Bayonets,, if not in close combat vicinity of the enemy, would not be attached as they hinder a good site picture and would certainly be in the way and dangerous to all around.
