In 1867, a Yankee patrol joins forces with a group of ex-Confederate soldiers in order to cross Apache territory and reach the nearest fort.
Clint Eastwood had such a miserable time making this film and was so disappointed with how badly it turned out, he considered quitting show business. Fortunately, his then-wife convinced him to stick with it, and shortly thereafter, he was cast in "Rawhide."
