| Well worth a watch....
This is a much better than average little British crime drama. A small village near a mental hospital is enveloped in paranoia as one of the patients escapes. There ensues a manhunt led by a suitably stiff-upper-lipped Howard Marion-Crawford ("Major Peters") in which the itinerant Derren Nesbitt - known only as "The Man" gets caught up in a case of mistaken identity. It's just under an hour long, but flies by - a tightly directed and scripted comment on some declining/ascending social attitudes in the UK at the end of the fifties.
