Widower Sheriff Andy Taylor, and his son Opie, live with Andy's Aunt Bee in Mayberry, North Carolina. With virtually no crimes to solve, most of Andy's time is spent philosophizing and calming down his cousin Deputy Barney Fife.
Milton, Oliver, and the middle initial "P" were all given as Barney Fife's middle name at one time or another during the series.
Well, it sure looks like she took the adult dose.
The badges that Andy and Barney wear are the 6 pointed star, yet the shoulder patch on their uniform shows a 5 pointed star. It would be assumed that the badge indicating they are a sheriff or deputy would be the same as the shoulder patch indicating they are with the sheriff's office.
During the CBS network run, the closing credits showed Andy and Opie walking back from their fishing trip. Opie drops the fish, and runs back to get them. One of the original sponsor's products (Sanka coffee, for instance) would appear in the corner of the screen. The syndicated reruns show a plain gray background (or blue, during the color years) with a drawing of the town square in the corner of the screen that once displayed the sponsor's product.
