When billionaire Jean-Marc Clement learns that he is to be satirized in an off-Broadway revue, he passes himself off as an actor playing him in order to get closer to the beautiful star of the show, Amanda Dell.
The plot of this film is a reworking of On the Avenue (1937), but the genders of the two central characters are reversed: in the 1937 film, Madeleine Carroll is the wealthy person who objects to being portrayed in the stage show (i.e. the Yves Montand role), and winds up having a romance with Dick Powell (in the Marilyn Monroe role).
No, don't turn TV on. Instead just turn me on. I light up like neon. Just a tiny section of your affection in my direction will do. Ooh.
When Amanda jogs out of theater, she passes same stores twice.
