  • All Soul's Day relates the tale of a couple spending a couple days together at a resort town during the off season. Haunted by their pasts during the war, they don't seem to be enjoying their vacation, or even each other, very much. They lounge about their room in a run down hotel and they walk about town in the rain, where they are openly stared at by everyone else. They have little to say to each other and mostly seem caught up by their unhappy memories.

If all this sounds depressing, that is because it is. The extended flashback scenes are interesting at least and help explain why the couple is so emotionally guarded. But the parts set in the present time are so oblique that it is hard to work up any interest in the couple, or to even understand what is going on. Vague and slow, but not completely without interest.
