  • Though not very different from the many hindi love stories, this movie will always be remembered for its music. The songs mostly sung by Lata and Rafi are molodius and naughty. Dev Anand has Nutan opposite him for change and they work charm together. If you are a Dev Anand fan, do not miss this movie; if you are not, this movie has the potential to make you one.
  • You sometimes have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince, and over the years I've fidgeted through more than my fair share of Bollywood Blockbusters in the interest of film scholarship as they interminably stretched on and on into the small hours of the morning on Channel 4; usually taking an absolute eternity to tell a very simple story. The songs to me all sound alike, so I just fast forward through them. But as a stuffy Brit, I was never the audience these films were meant for in the first place...

However, my diligence paid off about twenty years ago when I stumbled across this beauty, which I absolutely loved! Even more remarkably it actually contains a song which I'm capable of humming! It's called 'Dil Ki Manzil', a vibrant cabaret number sung by Asha Bhosle and performed on screen by a statuesque young dancer named Helga.

Ironically, because of it's age - and it's in black & white - most of my Hindi co-workers have either never seen it or are only very vaguely aware of it. But it certainly gets my vote!
  • The movie is really good.the best part of movie is music of S D Berman and the direction of Vijay Anand.Vijay Anand has given us some of the best movie of that time like guide, Teesari Manzil, Rajput and jewel thief that show the versatility of director. this movie is romantic comedy and u will love to see it and till climax u will not able to know how Nutan's family and Dev's family going to accept each other. some serious moment come at the end of film otherwise film was pure comedy.

story is Dev Anand is architecture who is making a bungalow of Nutan's father but the same design is like by his father who is rival of Nutan's father and he insist to make bungalow in front of Nutan's bungalow.think's start going more funnier when both family like Dev and Nutan but they don't know they are rival's children. when they know put restriction which is worthless. one of the most emotional ending where both family agree for marriage of their children for sake of their children's future and love.

Not much of a plot here but it is still an enjoyable movie. Dev Anand's and Nutan's father's are enemies and when they think of making their own houses, both end up purchasing a plot of land in front of each other's. And they also end up with the same architect Rakesh (Dev Anand). Dev's father insists to his son that his house should be better than the others' not knowing that the others' architect was Dev only. And Nutan on her father's behalf says the same thing. How Dev manages all this is what the story is about. He fools Nutan, her father and his own father with lies and he still has time to romance with Nutan.

The songs are unforgettable with "Dil Ka Bhawar Kare Pukar" being my favorite. Actually this song is well shot. They could not shoot the song in real Qutb Minar because it is a narrow staircase and it would be impossible to shoot the song with all the cameras rolling. And the actor's movements could not be restricted as well. So they had to build a "Qutb Minar like" structure on the sets and the cameras are cleverly concealed.

Another song "Ek Ghar Banaounga" is wonderfully pictured. Dev imagines Nutan in his glass of wine and sings to her promising that he will build a house for both of their parents even though they might be enemies.

Other melodies include "Dekho Rootha Na Karo", "Ye Tanhai", "Pyar Ki Saza" and "Tu Kahan"

Dev Anand and Nutan give a wonderful performance and Vijay Anand directs the film well. This is a film that is enjoyable for its music and above all Dev Anand's debonair ways which makes him look very comical but adorable.
  • Tere Ghar Ke Samne is all time enjoyable movie. Though it is black and white, it is very interesting movie. I appeal all people of all age to watch this movie at least once. The story is superb with happy end. Songs are also fantastic and will be liked by those who have got Rafi and Lata in their list of favorite singers. Devanand and Nutan are at best in their performance. Om Prakash and Harindranath have also performed well in their comedy roles. Music by S.D. Burman is very melodious. The dialoges are very comedy and film has been excellently directed. It has been directed by Vijay Anand. Vijay Anand has also directed other successful films like Guide, Jewel Thief, Jhony Mera Naam etc. Worth watching once.
  • Ver well written. Superbly shot and edited. Terrific performance s, especially by Nutan and Om Prakash. Immensely enjoyable song picturisation. Even the climax comes in a superbly picturised and edited song. Timeless. Not much you can suggest to better it, even today.
  • "Tere Ghar Ke Saamne" is a Hindi romantic comedy film directed by Vijay Anand. The movie was released in 1963 and starred Dev Anand and Nutan in the lead roles.

The story revolves around Rakesh (Dev Anand), a talented architect, and Sulekha (Nutan), a wealthy heiress. Rakesh dreams of constructing a modern building in the heart of Mumbai but faces obstacles due to his rivalry with Seth Karamchand (Om Prakash), Sulekha's father. However, fate brings Rakesh and Sulekha together when she hires him to design a house for her. As they work together on the project, their initial conflicts turn into friendship, and eventually, love blossoms between them.

One of the notable aspects of the film is its delightful blend of romance and comedy. Dev Anand delivers a charismatic performance as the charming and witty Rakesh, while Nutan portrays Sulekha's character with grace and elegance. Their on-screen chemistry is captivating and adds depth to their characters' evolving relationship.

The film's screenplay is well-written, with a good balance between light-hearted moments and emotional depth. The dialogues are witty and humorous, keeping the audience engaged throughout. The music by S. D. Burman is another highlight of the movie, with memorable songs like "Dil Ka Bhanwar Kare Pukar" and "Aye Meri Zohra Jabeen."

Vijay Anand's direction brings out the charm of Mumbai, capturing its bustling streets and iconic landmarks. The film's colorful cinematography and well-choreographed dance sequences enhance its visual appeal.

Overall, "Tere Ghar Ke Saamne" is a delightful romantic comedy that still holds its charm today. The performances, engaging storyline, and memorable music make it an enjoyable watch for fans of classic Hindi cinema.

A beautiful romantic comedy movie remembered for number of melodious songs which remain popular today. After Paying Guest (1957), this is the best known Dev Anand - Nutan vehicle. The movie is about two feuding millionaires, Seth Karamchand (Chattopadyaya)and Lala Jagannath (Prakash) who want to build their house in front of each other. Jagannath's son architect Rakesh Kumar (Dev Anand ) is commissioned to construct both houses. In addition he falls in love with Karamchand's daughter Sulekha (Nutan) & both do their best to hide from their parents. Finally after a lot of drama (handled well) the two rivals get together for their children. Omprakash, Nootan's father & the Dev's mother are just hilarious. Specially Dev's mother has done a great job. Their fights in auction, in the society/club election are of great entertainment. All in all a frothy musical comedy with some classic hits such as 'Dil Ka Bhanvar Kare Pukar' & 'Yeh tanhai Hai' etc. Each one is truly refreshing. 'Dil ka bhanwar' is my all time favorite.
