A witch married to an ordinary man cannot resist using her magic powers to solve the problems her family faces.
The show's now-iconic animated opening credits were created by Hanna-Barbera Productions, creators of such beloved 1960's cartoons as The Flintstones (1960), The Jetsons (1962), and Scooby Doo, Where Are You! (1969). These cartoon characters also guest starred on the H-B series "The Flintstones".
You, son of a gun!
In early episodes, the daughter is referred to in the credits as "Tabatha". In later episodes, however, the spelling of her name is changed to "Tabitha".
Whenever Samantha's cousin Serena appeared on the show, the credits for the episode listed the actress as "Pandora Spocks". This was Elizabeth Montgomery's idea as an inside joke. Elizabeth Montgomery played Serena.
During the first season, episodes featured a longer version of the familiar opening credits that incorporated a promotion for series sponsor Chevrolet (including an extra piece of animation showing Samantha and Darren riding a broomstick). This opening was replaced by a standardized opening for syndication. The DVD release of season 1 uses the syndicated version of the opening credits.
