Every two-part episodes of this series was re-edited for theatrical release in Europe. Each of these films include scenes filmed especially for theaters, often including additional violence or innuendo, while the TV versions also include scenes not released theatrically. The episode "The Pieces of Fate Affair" had to have all references to a lead character redubbed for European broadcast. The problem was a character named Judith Merle, a writer who is an enemy agent, was based on a real-life author named Judith Merril. Merril sued over the unauthorized use of her name, which resulted in the episode being withdrawn from syndication for 20 years.
