The submarine Seaview is commissioned to investigate the mysteries of the seas. Usually it finds more problems than answers...
During the 1965 season of the series, Susan Flannery was considered for a recurring role as Admiral Nelson's secretary, serving both as an on-shore ally to the adventures, and as occasional romantic interest for Captain Crane. The plans were dropped, after demographics showed the series was more popular with children than adults.
Seaview's job is never finished. As long as there are destructive forces in the world. As long as there are secrets of nature to be probed, believe me, there'll be work for us. On missions just as vital and as dangerous as this one.
Any time the Seaview dives below 600 feet, the sea should be completely dark. Visible light does not penetrate the ocean below that level.
