| a sweet film, good for kids...
I remember seeing this movie as a child. I can sympathize with the title character, who is not appreciated because he is unable to pass the physical to be accepted into the military (for World War II, I think). Because he is not 'manly' enough, people think he doesn't have anything to contribute. Any child who couldn't "make the team" will understand how he feels.
