Although the Rudolph puppet - which still exists - appears to be about three feet tall when viewed on screen, it's only an illusion: in reality, "Rudolph" is palm-sized - approximately the same size as a very small kitten.

When the elf is dropping presents from the back of Santa's flying sleigh at the end of the movie, each toy is handed an umbrella for them to use as a parachute. When the elf comes across a toy bird, he pauses and then tosses the bird over without an umbrella, thinking it wouldn't be needed. Unfortunately, that particular bird was the one from the Island of Misfit Toys, and cannot fly (but swims).
If you pay close attention to the opening credits, below the credit of "Burl Ives sings", you'll see a small house fly buzzing around on the fake snow!
