Steven Spielberg later remade the film as Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977).

Steven Spielberg premiered this movie at Phoenix Little Theatre (now Phoenix Theatre) in Phoenix, Arizona at the age of 17.

Spielberg's first feature length film.

This film is partly lost, the two master reels of the film were given to a producer when Spielberg was trying to showcase his abilities in film making before he became famous. However a week after he submitted this film, the production company the producer worked for went bankrupt and the producer in question vanished from the public eye with the two master reels of the film. To this day the location of the only copy of the two master reels is unknown. All that remains is an incomplete version of the film which is viewable.
