Trivia

In the original series, the 'arrowhead' badge worn by the crew of the Enterprise was meant to be an insignia for the Enterprise only. If you'll notice on any 'guest' Starfleet character, they all wear different symbols on their uniforms. And Commadores wore a 'starburst' or 'sun' insignia. By the time Star Trek hit the big screen in Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979), the Arrowhead insignia was adopted as the official Starfleet symbol and has remained so throughout the films and spin-off series, with the exception of Star Trek: Enterprise (2001) which pre-dates the original series.

Quotes

Dr. McCoy: I'm a doctor, not an engineer.

Goofs

It takes a while for character names and back histories to settle during the first season and there are many inconsistencies. At the same time, the crew wears different colors of uniform for the first few weeks.

Crazy Credits

On some episodes, the closing credits show a still that is actually from the Star Trek blooper reel. It is a close-up of the actor who played the android body in "Return to Tomorrow, removing his latex make up. In the reel, He is shown taking it off, while an off-screen voice says "You wanted show business, you got it!"

Alternate Versions

In Germany some episodes were cut or rearranged during the dubbing process (for example in the episode "Amok Time" the dialogue was changed to Spock having a disease). The episode "Patterns of Force" has never been shown on TV due to the Nazi-thematic. It was only released in the late 90s on VHS.
