Wheelchair-bound detective Robert T. Ironside battles the bad guys on the streets of San Francisco.
The "pilot" for this series was not a one hour episode, but a two hour TV movie which was a ratings success when it aired on NBC in 1967 - a common network practice at the time.
Robert T. Ironside:
I... LIKE... burned toast.
Since he was a police detective, the van he used would have been his official police vehicle. As such, the license plate should have had an "E" exempt plate. However, it only had a standard California blue plate with 6 gold alpha-numeric characters.
Gene Lyons plays San Francisco Police Commissioner Dennis Randall. However, on some closing credits, Lyons is listed as "The Commissioner".
