The film was a turning point for Jeetendra who became famous and was called Jumping Jack after the film.
Jeetendra stated that the first 12 weeks of the film were bad. It was a confirmed flop. In the 12th week, Jeetendra "fed" the film by purchasing all the tickets of the film. Jeetendra did this so the film would not be removed from the theatre's by the owners. Jeetendra felt if the film would run till the 15th week the collections would slowly improve. He proved right as the film's collections turned around and the movie turned out to be a block buster.
It was a hit and 3rd highest grossing Bollywood movie of 1967.
Dil De Ke Dard-e-Mohabbat Liya Hai" in MAINE PYAR KIYA (1989) and "Hum To Tere Aashiq Hain Sadiyon Purane" from FARZ (1967).
