| Nice and entertaining comedy with masterful as well as sympathetic performances by a great Spanish cast
This motion picture was amusingly directed by prolific filmmaker José Maria Forqué and shot in comical style and with great flair-play . It deals with Pepe (José Luis López Vázquez) who is a simple and lower-class worker of town hall and along with Faustino (Juanjo Menendez) are cleaning the dirty streets when at a litter bin he finds a million pesetas . Pepe's spouse (Julia Gutierrez Caba) convinces him to return but he renounces to it , then things go wrong.

This is an enjoyable , endearing Spanish comedy with amusement , emotion , laughs and a little bit of drama . The film pays tribute to the simple people , modest men who work hardly and they are very good guys , such as the likable street sweepers , excellently played by Juanjo Menéndez , Valentín Tornos and Jose Sacristán . Very good acting by the great José Luis López Vázquez as a hard-working labourer of the municipal who found a big amount of money in a trash can . Sensational Julia Gutiérrez as his sensitive wife who attempts to make him give up the authorities the valuable cash . Support cast is frankly extraordinary , formed by a Spanish secondary star-studded , such as : recently deceased José Sazatornil ¨Saza¨ , José Orjas , Guillermo Marin , Carlos Lemos , Rafaela Aparicio , Lina Canalejas , Luis Barbero , Claudia Gravi , Emilio Laguna , Erasmo Pascual , and many others . Special mention for the agreeable grandparents magnificently played by Rafael L. Somoza and Aurora Redondo .

The picture was well directed by José Maria Forque . Here Forqué carries out a decent , nimble and professional direction . José Maria was a director and writer , known for filming some classic Spanish films , such as : ¨Un Millon En La Basura¨ (1967) , ¨Accidente 703¨ (1962) , ¨Amanecer en Puerta Oscura¨ (1957) , ¨Embajadores En Infierno¨ (1956) and especially ¨Atraco a Las Tres¨ (1962) . José María Forqué was born in Zaragoza , being father of actress Verónica Forqué and director Álvaro Forqué . Forqué directed a lot of films of all kinds of genres such as Drama : ¨Amanecer Puerta Oscura¨ , ¨Embajadores En Infierno¨ , ¨La Legión De Silencio¨ ; Musical : ¨Bring a Little Loving" or ¨Dame Un Poco De Amooor¨ ; Intrigue : ¨091 Policia Al Habla¨, ¨El Ojo Del Huracan¨ , ¨Detra Puerta Oscura¨ , ¨Usted Puede Ser Un Asesino¨ . And he shot successful TV series : ¨Miguel Servet¨ and ¨Ramon Y Cajal¨ . He also filmed some international co-productions such as ¨Tarot¨ with Gloria Grahame , Sue Lyon , Fernando Rey , ¨Mujer De Tierra Caliente¨ with Stuart Whitman , Laura Gemser , Paola Senatore , "It's Nothing Bad, Mama, It's Only a Game" with David Hemmings , Alda Valli , ¨A Devil Under the Pillow¨ with Ingrid Thulin , Gabriele Ferzetti , Maurice Ronet and ¨El Ojo Del Huracan¨ or ¨In the eye of hurricane¨ with Tony Kendall , Jean Sorel , among others ; but he was especially expert on comedy such as : ¨La Vil Seducción¨ , ¨La Cera Virgen¨ , ¨Una Pareja Distinta¨ , the classical ¨Atraco a Las Tres¨ , ¨las Que Tienen Que Servir¨ and this ¨Un Millón En Basura¨ . Rating 7 . Better than average . Well worth watching , being noted as one of the best Spanish comedies .
