Before he "retired" to Europe to make movies like this and a series of low-budget "swords and sandals" epics, Gordon Scott had starred in a series of major studio Lord of the Apes films, including 1960's Tarzan, the Magnificent.

According to at least one source, this film's star Gordon Scott spent the last several years of his life flat broke, living as the "guest" of a fan in Baltimore, Maryland, occasionally appearing at photo signing conventions. He was living there when he died of heart complications in April, 2007.
