A bullied schoolboy dreams of traveling to Monster Island, where he befriends Godzilla's son, who is also having bully troubles.
In their biography of Ishirô Honda, film historians Steve Ryfle and Ed Godziszewski refer to this film as a masterpiece, not even the original Godzilla is given as much praise. They elaborate that the film is all to often dismissed for the stock footage and consider the film a personal and heartwarming monster movie, unique amongst it's genre.
Godzilla says that I should learn to fight my own battles, y'know.
