During the last season, when David Cassidy was thinking of throwing in the towel, Bernie Slade and the ABC producers were auditioning possible replacement Keiths, including Rick Springfield. But then the show was cancelled abruptly and this was all for naught. Another sidekick the producers were thinking of bringing in were Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5 who were hot at the time, and another big family act, but this was never to be.

The interior of the Partridge home was shot on a set. But, in episodes where there are shots from the exterior of the Partridge home through the open front door, there is a wall seen a few feet beyond the door. However, in the scenes from the interior of the home, there is no wall in that spot.
