The Broadway production of "The Andersonville Trial" by Saul Levitt opened at the Henry Miller's Theater in New York on December 29, 1959 and ran for 179 performances.
Early on, a captain played by Martin Sheen comes into the court to tell Gen. Wallace that the defendant tried to hurt himself. The crossed sabers insignia of the cavalry on Sheen's cap is upside down.
