In response to Mike Garner, the Great Gazoo went back to his planet in the second to the last episode in season 6. The episode is called "My Fair Freddy."

As for Pebbles and Bamm Bamm; the show is easier to watch now then when it first came on. I guess I'm getting older. I do remember I didn't care for it then. They made Bamm Bamm out to be a coward. Not strong and brave like when he was a baby.

Also even though Pebbles and Bamm Bamm were older Gobbie hadn't grown even though he was a kid when Pebbles was a baby. But that is cartoons for you. They age when you want them to or stay young for ever.

    Also, where was Dino?
  • Warning: Spoilers
35 years on, I can honestly say the only appeal to this show is Sally STruthers as the voice of Pebbles and Jay North as Bamm Bamm. It just makes for a fitting combination.

Strangely enough, the show doesn't have any hippie feel to it; it is more American Graffiti (which didn't come about until two years later), with hamburger joint hangouts and hot-rod races.

Odd that the cartoon wasn't considered a clone of Scooby Doo, with Pebbles (Daphne Blake), Bamm Bamm (Freddie Jones) and Penny (Velma Dinkle).

The big gripe at the time was that it had only been five or six years since The Flintstones went off the air, so how did Pebbles and Bamm Bamm age so quickly, but then Lisa Hartman became Tabitha Stephens in less than ten years after Bewitched went off the air. Don't think she was the right age either.

But never mind. 35 years on. My, my.

I still recall so many adventures, and clearly some of them were from these future Pebbles and Bamm Bamm - Flintstone hours or whatever they were.

Having recorded several of them off of Cartoon Network, two that always stood out for being good or bad, were Pebbles thinking that Mrs. Creeply had taken Wilma's birthday present.

Love those cuh-RAZY disguises. Barney, what is wrong with this younger generation! And "Golden Voice" where Bamm Bamm can sing (?) but only when he is in the show, then he keeps getting medinical cures and repeats himself or talks like he has a frog in his voice, or has been inhaling helium.

LIke all those Scooby Doo clones (Speed Buggy, Captain Caveman, Josie and the Pussycats, Funky Phantom, etc.), if you just can't get enough of the Flintstones from their six year primetime run, then venture toward these efforts.

"You'll see Fred and Barney too, yabba dabba doo, on the Pebbles and Bamm Bamm show!"
  • Warning: Spoilers
I remember watching this Flintstones spin-off all those years ago. I was quite excited by it, and interesting whenever Fred and Wilma appeared they hadn't aged one but. Still dark hair, no walking sticks, no slowing of speech.

For some reason I thought it was Bam-Bam, not with a double m.
  • You didn't expect Pebbles to stay a baby forever, did you?

In "The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show", the babies from the classic "Flintstones" series are now teenagers and have their own friends, adventures and mis-adventures in Bedrock. Of course, it's all sprinkled with the "hip" attitude from the early '70s and lots of blackout gags and jokes to keep things interesting.

For the most part, Pebbles (Struthers) always had big ideas she tried to put into motion, usually failing in large-scale fashion. Sound Familiar? Like father, like daughter.

And Fred, Barney, Wilma and Betty are along for the fun, too - naturally, the respective Flintstone and Rubble pater familias are as helpful here as they ever were.

Was it any fun, though? Yeah, how could it not be? The situations were always good for a laugh and the voices (North, McCall, etc) all perfectly accentuated the characters - girlfriends, rich snobs, bikers, mammoths and all.

All in all, good rock-headed fun and a perfect extension of the series.

    Ten stars.

TIDBIT - Struthers did the voice for Pebbles here, just like she was daddy's little girl for Archie Bunker in "All in the Family". Coincidence?
  • Pebbles and Bamm Bamm was just an awful cartoon. It ruins the original Flintstones show since it was a spin-off of the original. The pair get a lower rating in my book than the Great Gazoo. And we never found out whatever became of the Gazoo, since the Flintstones was canceled in 1966, and he never showed up in any of the spin-offs.

If you thought Pebbles Flintstone wore hardly anything on the show, just look at Cindy Curbstone, Pebbles' rival. She wore even LESS than what Pebbles wore! I thought Cindy was too pornographic looking to be in a kids' show. She looked like Marilyn Monroe in 1962. And if I remember right, there was one episode where you could see a small chunk of Cindy's nude ass while she was taking a ridiculous picture of Pebbles sitting in a pool of water. Cindy reminds me too much of Little Annie Fannie in Playboy. And you'd think the censors would allow Pebbles or Cindy to get away with wearing so little? HOW ABSURD! THIS IS A Saturday MORNING CARTOON, GEARED FOR THE KIDS! And Bamm Bamm? On the original Flintstones, he's the strongest boy in the world. But on Pebbles and Bamm Bamm, he's letting a zoo animal to stand on him, and he can't even get it off of him! AGAIN, HOW ABSURD! All in all, Pebbles and Bamm Bamm was so bad!

    Warning: Spoilers
I once watched one episode of this show and already I found it terrible. Pebbles' voice really is annoying. She is just too much like her father always thinking up crazy ideas or jumping to the wrong conclusion about something. What's worse about this show is I don't like it when Penny calls Moonrock a creep at some points in the show. That is a serious insult. Bamm-Bamm was still supposed to be strong, but I haven't seen him being strong in any way. This is a show that doesn't belong on television at all. Personally, I liked Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm as babies and as adults, but not as teenagers. Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm got married in I Yabba-Dabba Do and had babies in Hollyrock-A-Bye Baby. Those two films are OK with me and I also like the episodes of the Flintstones where they stayed as babies, but this '70s show belongs down the drain. Stay away form it. I will.
  • In reply to rjc(?)5365, it wasn't Sally Struthers or Fred Welker (never the Bamm-Bamm voice, which was Jay North as mentioned originally-and it is FRANK welker, by the way while I'm at it!) in 1979 but Russi(e) Taylor -usually in annoying Strawberry Shortcake roles but hiliarous as the Simpsons's Martin(?)--as Pebbles and Mike Sheehan, related or not to reporter Doug and pacifist Cindy (ha ha, Pebbles's rival's name in the first series) as P&BB. North and Mickey Stevens voiced a few 1972 appearances.Yuck. Agreed with the other criticism here...the original are a classic 166 group of episodes, but sorry, and Richard Fuller, the show is inferior to "American Graffiti" .. as for someone saying stay away from it..(grin) I already have. and I may be the better for it!!!!
  • This show was nothing but a high school kids getting through their age type show. There were some problems but the biggest one that I could not get over was "Who was Bamm Bamm?" In the original "Flintstones" we were introduced to the strongest person in the world who could lift up the sofa for Betty to vacuum under and pick up a Stone Age car so they could fix the rock wheel. How did this character turn into a nerd getting picked on by bullies like all lead characters in high school shows did at the time? Lame.

The only interesting aspect was having Sally Strutbets voice Pebbles and Jay North (Dennis the Menace) doing the voice of Bamm Bamm. But that is just behind the scenes stuff and did not impact the show.

    I repeat LAME!
  • This is definitely a fun spin-off to the classic Hanna Barbera cartoon, The Flintstones. It holds up well throughout the times, with its humorous characters, amusing stories, and fun adventures that would delight an audience of all ages.

Pebbles, Bamm-Bamm, Fred, Barney, Wilma, and Betty were all memorable characters that will be recognized everywhere and it's a show that will have iconic status for generations to come. It's fun seeing Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm all grown up and off to their own adventures!

    Grade B+
  • I was just a baby when this show came out, so I didn't see it until Cartoon Express played it about 15 years ago or something. I love this show! I especially like the songs. I like the sort of "innocence" of it. Besides, I always had a crush on Jay North, from watching Dennis the Menace re-runs. I haven't had cable for a while now, so I don't even know if it's on anymore, but if it is on, and I had a chance to see it, I could never get tired of it. They need to have more innocent shows like this. I loathe all the new cartoons they have out today. They just aren't the same. The Flinstone's Comedy show also has Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm as older teens, and it's also an excellent show. These are the shows I would like for my kids to see if I ever have any.
  • Warning: Spoilers
Well it shows them as teens. And in the having in the wanting them to not be babies anymore. Bamm Bamm is not as strong as he used to be except in one scene in the entire series there.

As they take the leads he and Pebbles there with their friends there. Fred, Barney, Wilma, and Betty show up but they are in the background there to give way to their respected children.

In dealing with dating there. Among other things and school.
  • As for the previous comment that was said about this series is the main reason why in most-cases some of our favorite classic television spin-offs really don't work, and here is the reason why............ During the entire decade of the 1970's,the animation giant of the most trusted name in children's entertainment,Hanna-Barbera Productions were cranking out a lot of their own successful shows into spin-offs which by the way some of them in fact were absolutely horrible from the get-go,and there was a lot of them and this was something Hanna-Barbera did plenty of in the 1970's and way into the 1980's with some of their cartoon favorites, which by the way didn't work, and their were several.....From "Yogi Bear","The Flintstones","Scooby Doo","The Jetsons",and "Space Ghost" were made spin-offs out of the ordinary, all of them were either other clones or rehash of their own shows which were some of the worst kind of animation ever created for Saturday Mornings, and the spin-off to one of the longest running animated television series in prime time history, the spin-off to the 1960's television series to "The Flintstones"-"Peebles and Bamm-Bamm",was one of them.

Believe me,this was the worst of the worst, and how did Hanna-Barbera do this? By destroying one of the best beloved shows of all time, and believe me in the 1970's,there were I'll say a lot of "The Flintstones" spin-offs that were repulsive let alone completely terrible! And this was one of them! Need I say more? I saw a episode of "Peebles and Bamm-Bamm" not too long ago,and believe me what they did to one of the best loved characters of The Flintstones is very horrible! Watch it sometime. First off the series takes Peebles Flintstone and Bamm-Bamm Rubble from being infants in The Flintstones to being annoying and repulsive teenagers with Peebles acting like a real spoiled brat! By the way, watch some of the episode where Peebles is actually wearing little or nothing since I'm surprised that the censors let that get into Saturday Mornings! And it supposed to be an children's show!

And Bamm-Bamm Rubble? How in the hell did this kid who was supposed to be the world's strongest baby in "The Flintstones",turn into a major wuss and become sort of a puscatore? How did he become such a wimp? And as for Peebles, she is very annoying and its here where she rebels against Fred and Wilma Flintstone(her own parents!)for attention! The show is repulsive and sometimes it lags along for a half-hour,with the usually hijinks between the kids(where Peebles is always trying to con Bamm Bamm into some hair-raising scheme)and sometimes usually with the gang they associated with where in each of the episode its usually Fred and Barney to get them out of a tight situation. The episodes and the musical numbers are just as canned as vegetables at the market, and the cartoony voices are very distracting(voiced by Sally Struthers, aka Gloria Bunker from All In The Family, and the other by Jay North, aka Dennis Mitchell from the Dennis The Menace TV series)which some of the plots were so stupid that its no wonder it lasted for one season, when it aired during Saturday Mornings on CBS-TV from 1971 to early 1972.

It was however, when CBS aired "The Flintstone Comedy Hour" in September of 1972,most of the "Peebles and Bamm-Bamm" shows were absorbed into this hour long format, and from there the episodes gotten so pathetic, the network dropped the show after nine episodes that same year, and from there the show founded a new home,in syndication in early 1973,and from there the "Flintstone Comedy Hour",remained on several syndicated television stations(where in was shown during the weekday afternoons)for an impressive six seasons, ending in the spring of 1976.

Then,Hanna-Barbera did the unthinkable which almost killed off the "Flintstone" franchise once and for all. In the fall of 1979,NBC-TV reunited and for a better response, resurrected the "Flintstone" franchise which an hour based the remaining characters and this time around it was based again on Peebles and Bamm-Bamm. This time around, the Flintstone family pet,Dino is along to help them solve mysteries in the form of the Scooby Doo formula which copied from that show and get this using the same voice characters from the original series(this time around by Sally Struthers as the voice of Peebles, and Fred Welker as the voice of Bamm-Bamm)which was so incredibly stupid indeed that the network dropped that show too, that same year. The was part of a series of episodes that appeared on "The Flintstone and Rubble Hour",and then "The Flintstone Mysteries".

Yabba Dabba Do? Yabba Dabba Not!
  • This is just another example of why in most cases that spin-offs of most classic television series don't work. The thing that I didn't like about it is the fact that Bamm Bamm, who when he was a baby was the strongest boy in the world, is comes off as rather wimpy and let's Pebbles talk him into a lot of her hair brained schemes. Also, the supporting cast was pretty much a carbon copy of a lot of the cast in the various versions of the "Archie" cartoon series. And the plots for many of the episodes of the were so stupid that it is no wonder that it only lasted for one season. However, when "The Flintstone Comedy Hour" premiered the next year, the Pebbles and Bamm Bamm shows were absorbed into this show.

Another thing that gets me is the fact that Pebbles and Bamm Bamm went from toddlers just five years earlier to being teenagers while Fred, Wilma, Barney, Betty and Mr. Slate never seemed to age at all.
  • I watched several episodes on the Boomerang channel hoping to see something of value in the Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show and am sad to report that I, too, am disappointed. Their voices are mismatched. Pebbles' voice is annoying (It's Gloria from All in the Family) Bamm-Bamm sure acts like a puscatore, and the rest of the gang have cartoony voices that totally detract from the rest of the main characters.

The episodes are as canned as the vegetables that sit in my local supermarket. The original Flintstones had wonderful story lines that had humor sprinkled throughout. This show is more like the opposite. The creators of this show had franchise and money on their minds - and it shows.
  • Let's face it: Hanna Barbera always sucked at spinoff shows. Granted, I liked the "Wacky Races" spinoff shows, but the "Flintstones" spinoffs were TERRIBLE! And this show is an extreme example on how bad Hanna Barbera were at spinoff shows involving "The Flintstones".

First off, Pebbles is so annoying! I hated her on this cartoon, and Bam-Bamm became a major wuss. Wasn't this kid the strongest baby in the world on "The Flintstones"? What the hell happened to him? Couldn't tell you. The other friends that Pebbles, and Bam-Bamm have are annoying too. Sure, Fred, Barney, Wilma, and Betty appear on this show, but even they CAN'T save this garbage.

The bottom line is that this show just totally sucks, and it brought "The Flintstones" franchise to an even bigger low point (even lower than when Great Gazoo appeared on "The Flintstones."). This gets a 0/10.
  • How come if Pebbles was born in 1963 (airdate time), can she be a teenager by 1971 (airdate time). Chronologically, she would have to be at least 8 years old, if looked at it age-wise. Not even 8 year old had curves (despite the trend in America for underage beauty queen pageants).

H-B execs must have picked it up eventually, but by the time Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm did mature, the continuity was out-of-whack by showing later Flintstones shows with the kids looking different than they were in '71.

I don't know when the marriage of P and B-B was shown, but hopefully the time lines were put back on the correct track.

Sorry to be picky, but i guess the kids (who watch the cartoons)wouldn't pick up on the continuity errors.
