A bank security expert plots with a call girl to rob three safety deposit boxes containing $1.5 million in cash belonging to three very different criminals from a high-tech security bank in Hamburg, Germany.
Goldie Hawn has said of her co-star Warren Beatty: We did become fast friends on that film. I looked upon him as a crazy older brother. I think we got along so well because our characters are alike in . . . oh, so many ways. But the big reason why we got along so well was that Warren was the first man who told me I was really smart. At about 70 minutes into the movie, Goldie Hawn is called in a public phone booth in Hamburg by Warren Beatty. The film takes place around 1970. While a public phone booth could always have been called in the USA, in Germany it was not possible until 1983 when about 300 booth were retrofitted accordingly.
The title (that is, the original title "$") appears only in the form of a giant character, as would be used in a sign, being transported by a crane while the other opening credits are displayed in the usual way.
