  • A really old and hungry beggar faints and to his rescue comes another very poor female (Jaya Bhaduri). A beautiful film which depicts a certain altruism, a certain positive attitude in some people, a sense of faith and hope in the world and mankind. I would call this character of Jaya Bhaduri, the best that she has ever portrayed. This film leaves one with the feeling of positivity and optimism and shows the way to be more accomodating and going beyond our selfish desires. The end of the movie is cliche kinds but on the whole its a wonderful experience to watch this movie.
  • Jaya Bhaduri at her best with a tremendous supporting cast. Terrific tale of an elderly wealthy man who comes to realize that he is valued only for his money even by those closest to him. He becomes distraught and sets out wandering the rural countryside dressed as a pauper to see if he can find just one person who will love him for his inner being, his heart.

The story is masterfully told and beautifully acted.

Wonderful songs. Chocked full of wisdom points underscoring the highest of traditional 'old-fashioned' values.

This film is a MUST SEE for all. Especially valuable for families to view together.
  • Very simple yet very opulently described story by Asit Sen. All the characters of the movie are close to real life. Superb performance from Om Prakash and Jaya Bachan. Especially Om Prakash's work is superb. Anil Dhawan has given a solid performance. One of the best creation from Asit Sen. Music from Salil Choudhury is good. It could have been better. Though all the songs takes movie forward which is more important.

One thing I did not like about the movie, the way domestic violence is shown. In my point of view such a delicate subject is not handled properly.
