  • A very inspired Claude Zidi made this movie back in 1973... A 70's feeling in the Paris suburbs, tons of gags, a reflection about consumerism and four awkward guys who are out to proof that they got nothing to proof, "Le Grand Bazar" is a masterpiece of the genre. I got to watch it about 200 times at least with my young brother, and never got enough of it, because this is so funny, because it shows a nice picture of France during the early 70's, and because of the awesome performances of some of the most talented actors within the comedy genre at the time; Michel Galabru as a frustrated bartender, Jacques Seiler as dumb security guy, and of course the four Charlots as a young and naive crew trying to do what they can do to keep what they took for granted for so many years... An awesome movie, the Charlots at their BEST !!!!
  • Even if this was shot in 1973, this subject of a big box supermarket giving a hard time to the small grocer is still in effect these days.

A quaint grocer with his 4 employees, sees the upcoming of a giant supermarket built nearby. Little by little, the grocer is losing money to this behemoth of a food store, but the said employees try the best they can to keep their jobs and also give a hard time to the supermarket.

A well told story. One of the actors in a small role, Roger Carel, is a master of dubbing movies in France. Mostly known to be the voice of Asterix the Gaul, many Hanna-Barbera cartoon characters and other American actors like Jack Lemmon or Burgess Meredith in the 60s.

This one is to watch, and don't take some of the scenes seriously...
  • I think this was the first movie in the Crazy Boys series to hit theaters in India- way back in the Seventies. this was a huge hit and the movie has been shown multiple times in theaters during the early Eighties. However, there is no information available about the movies availability in English in the Net. Very surprising...for this was one super duper hit.
