A top New York detective is sent to Los Angeles where he must solve a case involving an old Sicilian Mafia family feud.
Actor Martin Balsam received a 'co-starring' credit.

Lou Torrey: Hey, I filled your plate for you.
Witness: That's cool. Say Torrey, I still don't wanna marry your sister.
Lou Torrey: That breaks me up. You ought to see the slob she did marry.
When Torrey's car bounces across the railroad tracks during the chase scene, the front left suspension apparently breaks because the wheel is cocked at an odd angle. After the next cut, the wheel is straight again and the car is able to continue the chase.
Actor Gene Woodbury is credited in opening credits only.
