A melon farmer battles organized crime and a hit man who wants to kill him.
The 2nd December 1973 edition of 'The Los Angeles Times' stated that the picture was filmed in the American state of Colorado because star 'Charles Bronson' was unable to start work on the movie until September 1973 by which time the melon picking season in the American state of California was finished. Melon growing is a key story element in this motion picture.
Det. Lt. McAllen:
You're not gonna get those melons in if you're dead.
Vince Majestyk: If I'm dead it won't matter, will it?
Det. Lt. McAllen: Suit yourself.
During the chase scene with the pickup truck, after Majestyk takes over the driving the steering wheel is black with thin spokes. About three minutes later, after having disposed of the one vehicle by pushing it over the cliff, the steering wheel is now a completely different style wheel, in blue, with thicker spokes and a clearly-visible horn ring.
