When the partisans are ambushed, during their retreat through a railway marshaling yard a German soldier is almost really run over by a tank.

A few seconds of this movie is shown in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, and it's supposed to be a movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio's fictional Rick Dalton titled The 14 Fists of McCluskey.

As noted, this movie is shown in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, and it's supposed to be a segment not of Hell River but of Leonardo DiCaprio's character's fictional war movie, "The 14 Fists of McCluskey". On fake posters for McCluskey, Rod Taylor is the last credit as "And Rod Taylor" but this movie's ingenue, Brioni Farrell, is replaced with the name Jo Jo Deville since she is, along with Taylor, shown in the Tarantino film.

When a segment of Hell River is shown in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which is supposed to be a fictional movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio's Rick Dalton, Al Pacino (as an agent) is talking to Dalton throughout, and winds up mentioning the television series Batman, which starred Adam West, one of this movie's main stars (Rod Taylor, not Adam West, is shown in the Tarantino film).

Released on TV as "Hell River".

A lot of the "German" armored vehicles are actually American.
