In the last episode of Series Three, 'What a Tangled Web', Sid the caretaker laments at length that twenty-eight years ago he was married, despite having a whole previous episode ('How's Your Father' from Series Two) about Mr. Brown offering to pay for him to wed his partner after hearing Sid never married her.
The series title is drawn by an animated Mr Brown on a blackboard. The intertitles have him write "End of Part One" and "Part Two", and at the start of the closing credits he cleans up the blackboard signifying the end of a class.
