Third teaming of director Don Siegel with star actor Charles Bronson. The two had previously worked in television together on The Lineup: The Paisley Gang (1954) and The Legend of Jesse James: The Chase (1966), Siegel being a director on the former and producer on the latter. This film though was their only ever theatrical feature together.
