Fifteen years after murdering his sister on Halloween night 1963, Michael Myers escapes from a mental hospital and returns to the small town of Haddonfield to kill again.
Nancy Kyes would go on to play Linda Challis in Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982). At the time she was married to that film's director, Tommy Lee Wallace, whom she met when he served as the production designer on this film.
Laurie: There's nothing to be scared of.
Tommy: Are you sure?
Laurie: I killed him...
Tommy: But you can't kill the boogeyman!
Due to Daylight Savings Time, it would be dark when Annie picks up Laurie. In 1978, clocks were turned back the last weekend in October.
The music for the film -- written and performed by John Carpenter -- is instead credited to "The Bowling Green Philharmonic Orchestra." Carpenter grew up in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
