Mixed up mess of a movie .......
merklekranz5 January 2015
Michael Parks is at his mumbling best, but there is little else of interest. The problem is "Midnight Auto Supply" is supposed to be a comedy, but seriously lacks chuckles. Centering the auto theft operation around a "cathouse" could have worked as solid exploitation, but there is no nudity and very little titillation. Rory Calhoun is totally wasted in a strictly by the books role. There is one line in the entire movie that is memorable. The "house" madam dressing down one of her shy "girls" puts it like this " You are a whore act like one". Otherwise this is nothing special, with a muddled plot, time filler car chases, and a no surprise surprise ending. - MERK

Love and the Midnight Auto Supply Hung out with cast&fun to watch
etainerric-113 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Love and the Midnight Auto Supply was shot in Port Costa, Crockett, and surrounding areas. In Northern California. My cousin was one of the costars Colleen Camp.(Apocalypse Now Police Academy 2 Valley Girl,Die Hard with a Vengeance. Recently produced Above Suspicion starring Emelia Clarke & Jack Houston (just directed and produced with Colleen Camp ' Day Before the Fight) Father Stu starring Mark Wahlberg &Mel Gibson I went to a production party at Juanita's in Port Costa. Juanita supposedly had been a Madame in her early days. I hung out with Michael Parks who starred in the series, Then Came Bronson and recorded the hit theme song "Long Lonesome Highway", We talked about music & his recording studio. The movie is farcical and looked like a fun. Production. In the style in the style of movies, like cm Cannonball Run, Smokey and the Bandit Colleen was in number III playing Jerry Reed's Girlfriend. It's really a takeoff on Robin Hood but they were stealing cars selling parts and giving the money to the poor. It had a lot of character actors John Ireland, Rod, Cameron, Rick, Jason (combat) and Rory Calhoun, in his last movie. Also, my cousin Don Camp (also Assoc Producer of Above Suspicion, had a cameo role and George McAllister played my cousin Colleen's boyfriend. All in all just a fun movie to watch.

Rick Camp Actor, Screenwriter, Musician, Songwriter.

Migrant workers don't need friends like this.

Warning: Spoilers
Remember the scene in "Ed Wood" where the Paramount executive watched a print of "Glen or Glenda?" and laughed at it, thinking that it's a practical joke? Or a phony movie studio that creates a deliberately bad movie to take it off their taxes as a loss and keep what little profits there are? Or even the movie producer that releases a film where there aren't any major critics so it won't end up on the worst of the year lists? All three scenarios describe what could have been going on with this truly hideous film which is why it appears that maybe 10 people outside of those involved have seen it.

Sometimes a movie gives itself away in the credits just how awful it's going to be, and you can decide whether or not you're going to waste any further time on it. Seeing veteran actors like Rory Calhoun, John Ireland and Linda Cristal listed in the credits made me hope for something good, but unfortunately, it is not there. Protesters involved in the fight for migrant worker rights end up using prostitutes and a car theft ring to get money from politicians to aide migrants. Noble cause. Crappy movie. A ridiculous script and bad direction keeps this from ever taking off. When this came out, there should have been a prize for those who remained at the movie for its entirety to get their ticket refunded and all of their concessions for free. Not even worth the internet space this film takes up or the 25 cent video disc I copied it on.
