| Comedic....X. Entertaining....X. Worth your precipous time......X.
Let me gently introduce you to this 'comedy'.
The introductory phrase describers it above as..." The comic tale of Charles Pooter and his wife Caroline, a middle-class couple living in London towards the end of the 19th Century"
Let me first correct several misconceptions you might be tempted to feel after viewing this 'comedy'
The number of players is........1....no wife to be seen.
The 'story' consists of a long and tiresome ( but not amusing ) monologue 'performed ( read ) by Hugh....no wife to be seen or heard.
The 'costume' changes from time to time as do the general scenes but they are so obvious and u-subtle as to conger up a stage play...which this undoubtedly is/was/should be.
FUNNY it is NOT.......ENTERTAINING it is NOT....BUT....LONG it is also NOT, which is a good thing. It is, as well, NOT too long and although the temptation to doze was incredibly strong, I resisted.
If anyone reading this were to say to themselves...."I really like Hugh and have never seen anything I didn't like him in" and by that single judgment, decide it therefore MUST be worth their time.....I BEG YOU.......strike thyself about the cranium with a stout balk of timber until thy senses return.
