During the 1970s, "Police Story" was probably the best made TV cop show. It excelled at realism as well as showing the wide range of policework. However, towards the end of its run, the network obviously lost faith in the program and instead of just showing the final episodes, they dropped them off rather randomly in their schedule months or even years later. "Confessions of a Lady Cop" sat for quite some time before it aired....and it also turned out to be a pretty bad episode.

The story is about a policewoman who is competent on the job BUT who is also on the verge of killing herself. And, instead of getting professional help, she sucks it up and goes back to work immediately after she actually DOES try to kill herself. Her supervisor knows about this but says nothing and apparently she is now just fine!

The episode was a good idea but the ending was simply awful. It made no sense and also belittled suicide and PTSD....making it seem as if these problems can just magically disappear!

By the way, despite probably being the worst episode of the original series, it was remake just a few years later in 1988.
