Ramones fanatic and delinquent Riff Randell battle it out with the strict new principle of Vince Lombardi High School, Miss Togar, with help from the Ramones.
The origins of the film's plot were seeded in an old favorite story told to co-writer Joseph McBride by his father, the Milwaukee Journal's Raymond E. McBride, who held a walkout at the Central High School in Superior, Wisconsin during the 1920s.
Do your parents *know* that you're Ramones?
When the Ramones are playing "I Want You Around" in Riff's bedroom, Johnny is in a chair playing a wood-grain acoustic guitar. Later in the song, he is still in the same chair, but now playing a red and white electric guitar. At the end of the song, when the scene has moved to the bathroom, he is playing a different white and black electric guitar. (Though, as the scene is technically a dream sequence, strict rules of continuity need not necessarily apply).
UK cinema and video versions were cut by 1 min 39 secs to remove all footage of cocaine and reefers. The cuts were fully restored for the 2002 Prism DVD.
